- Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (2019) – University of Tasmania
Area of practice:
Sophie completed the Tasmanian Legal Practice Course and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 2019. Sophie joined Butler McIntyre & Butler in 2023 after practising at another Hobart firm.
Sophie practises in Family and Relationship Law and is able to assist clients with parenting and property matters, divorce applications, child welfare matters and family violence applications.
During her studies, Sophie successfully competed in advocacy competitions and enjoys appearing in court. She regularly appears in the Magistrates Court of Tasmania and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia on behalf of clients. Sophie aims to help clients navigate the court system and advocate for them during what can be a very challenging and stressful time.
Outside of work, Sophie enjoys reading, gardening and listening to music or a good true crime podcast. She also loves trying new food, whether it be cooking at home, or eating out.
