Robert has practised law for 33 years and became a partner with Butler, McIntyre & Butler in 1987. Robert practises extensively in commercial, civil and property litigation. He enjoys working with a large body of law that requires skill, experience, expertise, poise and judgment to effectively administer.
Robert thrives in the competitive area of commercial and civil litigation, reaping rewards for his clients and bringing considerable job satisfaction for him as a legal practitioner.
Robert grew up in Smithton in Tasmania’s far North West before moving to Hobart to undertake a law degree (with honours) at the University of Tasmania.
Robert acts for both individual and corporate clients. His clients include national financial institutions and insurers and a number of major Tasmanian businesses. He also takes referral work from mainland law firms which are generally commercial or civil disputes.
Robert spends time over his weekends cycling and kayaking, as well as pursuing various other outdoor activities, or generally spending time with his wife and with his children as they move through completing their education and into the working world.
