Peter is one of Butler, McIntyre & Butler’s long standing legal practitioners joining the firm in 1978. Peter specialises in business law, estate planning, elder law and trusts.
Peter retired from the partnership in January 2016. He stays with the firm on a part-time basis as a consultant.
Peter completed his legal training in Hobart gaining a Bachelor of Law through the University of Tasmania . He was admitted to the bar in 1976. Peter went on to study for a Masters in Commercial Law through Deakin University in 1999 and completed a Graduate Diploma in Managing Legal Organisations through Melbourne University in 2006.
Peter is a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is Chair of the Tasmanian branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Peter is also a Director of the Royal Automobile Club of Tasmania Limited.
When away from the office, Peter indulges in his interest in landscape photography, gardening and travelling.
