Meaghan is a member of the Butler McIntyre & Butler Family Law team. Meaghan practices primarily in the area of Family and Relationships Law but also has experience in Child Protection Law and Estates Law.
Meaghan was admitted to the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the High Court of Australia in 2008 after completing a combined Arts/Law degree at the University of Tasmania.
Meaghan then spent a number of years engaged as a solicitor with a specialist family law firm in Melbourne before returning to Hobart to work at another law firm as a family lawyer. During that time, Meaghan also pursued a Masters Degree in Family Law through the College of Law. Meaghan achieved her Masters Degree in 2013 and was awarded the Sandra Paul Memorial Prize for being the best graduating student of her class. This complete immersion in family law has led to Meaghan quickly becoming an experienced and knowledgeable family lawyer.
Meaghan is committed to assisting her clients achieve a timely and just resolution of the issues that arise from separation. She has extensive experience in issues relating to children and their care arrangements following separation, matrimonial and de-facto property matters, spousal maintenance and family violence orders.
Meaghan is on the Southern Young Lawyers Committee and is on the Continuing Professional Development Sub-Committee. Meaghan also volunteers her time at the Hobart Community Legal Service.
In her spare time, Meaghan enjoys being at the beach with her two Springer Spaniel dogs, surfing and travelling around Tasmania.
